Plot

As spring blooms in the year 1890, the enigmatic painter Vincent Van Gogh finds refuge in the quaint town of Auvers-sur-Oise, a stone's throw away from the bustling streets of Paris. Under the watchful eyes of Dr. Gachet, he inhabits a modest inn that serves as the canvas for his artistic endeavors. However, the tranquility is short-lived, ending abruptly less than 70 days later with a tragic self-inflicted gunshot. The film invites us on a captivating journey through Vincent's world. We witness him fervently painting landscapes and portraits, his brush strokes revealing more than mere scenery and faces. His brother Theo and his family visit, adding familial warmth to the pastoral setting. Van Gogh, both playful and enigmatic, draws the affections of an unlikely crowd. Marguerite, the youthful daughter of Dr. Gachet, the inn's innocent maid Cathy, a seasoned Parisian courtesan, and even Johanna, his brother's wife, all find themselves captivated by his charm. Just prior to his untimely death, Vincent's life takes a turbulent turn. A heated quarrel with Theo in Paris, a contemptuous view of his own artistic genius, a wild dance at a brothel, and a fluctuating relationship with Marguerite make up the whirlwind of his final days. This compelling narrative paints a vivid portrait of Van Gogh’s life, as colorful and poignant as the masterpieces he created.
