Uphaar (1971)

In the bustling city of Calcutta, Anoop diligently pursues his law degree, distanced from his widowed mother dwelling in a quaint West Bengal town. His life takes an interesting turn when his mother introduces him to Vidya, the daughter of Shankarlal, as a potential bride. Anoop, however, insists on meeting his prospective wife before making any decisions. His encounter with Vidya is soon overshadowed by his meeting with another young woman, Minoo, whose charm captivates him. Despite his mother's initial hesitance, Anoop marries Minoo, and they begin their life together. As the initial enchantment fades, Anoop and his mother discover that Minoo is far from the ideal wife they had imagined.
