Plot

In the heart of ancient Ithaca, the populace eagerly anticipates the homecoming of their valiant king, Ulysses, and his band of warriors from the storied Trojan War. Among the expectant are Ulysses' faithful wife, Penelope, and his matured son, Telemachus. Yet, not everyone awaits Ulysses with open arms, especially those who harbor ill-will towards the king. His foes brazenly pursue Penelope, urging her to renounce her absent husband as deceased and wed one of the uncouth suitors who have infiltrated her home since Ulysses' departure. Nevertheless, Penelope remains steadfast in her conviction of Ulysses' impending return. To quiet the relentless suitors, she pledges to remarry once she completes a grand tapestry that celebrates Ulysses' heroic acts. But behind the scenes, she undoes each day's work, artfully prolonging the tapestry's completion, fully aware that her ruse can only last so long. Meanwhile, in distant Troy, Ulysses and his warriors employ the infamous Trojan Horse stratagem to vanquish the city. In his passionate zeal, Ulysses defiles Neptune's sacred temple, invoking the fury of the witch Cassandra who foretells Ulysses' destined wrath from the sea god. Consequently, during his voyage back to Ithaca, Ulysses' vessel succumbs to a shipwreck, leading to his unconscious form washing up on a beach of the Phaeacian island, discovered by the enchanting princess Nausicaa. Thus commences Ulysses' daunting, prolonged, and treacherous journey — an odyssey fraught with danger and uncertainty.
