Plot

Set amidst the tumultuous backdrop of the Basque Country in 90s Spain, "Todos estamos invitados" unravels a tale of memory, identity, and conflict. We meet Josu Jon, a young patriot entrenched in a militant organization, who is left grappling with near-total amnesia following a violent clash with Spanish police. As he languishes in a prison hospital, his fellow inmates strive to rekindle his past, reminding him of his valiant role as a 'gudari' - a Basque warrior - and inspiring him to rejoin the fight for their homeland's independence once freed. Simultaneously, we delve into the life of Xabier, an academic thrust into danger because of his controversial political stance on the Basque predicament. Amidst the shadows of danger, he seeks solace in an illicit romance with Francesca, a young psychologist. Fate intertwines their lives when Francesca becomes responsible for aiding Josu Jon in regaining his memory, a task that stirs an unexpected bond between patient and healer. The narrative teeters on the precipice of uncertainty as the line blurs between Josu Jon's desire to reclaim his past and the temptation to erase his identity entirely. "Todos estamos invitados" is an immersive journey into the heart of political turmoil, personal struggles, and the delicate dance between remembrance and oblivion.
