Plot

In a harmonious blend of comedy, romance, and music, "Three Little Girls in Blue" (1946) is a clever reimagining of the popular "Three Blind Mice" (1938), and its subsequent adaptation, "Moon Over Miami" (1941). Set against the backdrop of the vibrant turn of the century, the story unfolds as three farming sisters from the humble town of Red Bank embark on a daring adventure to the dazzling shores of Atlantic City. Armed with their modest inheritance and an audacious plan, they aim to ensnare wealthy husbands. Ingeniously, one sister adopts the façade of a glamorous socialite, while her siblings play the parts of her obedient secretary and diligent maid. These roles, however, soon become a tangled web of deception and desire. As the sisters navigate the glittering world of high society, they encounter an array of men, fortunes, and unexpected emotions. In a whirl of confusion and heart-stirring melodies, love and money appear in baffling sequences, often not aligning with the sister who orchestrated the grand scheme. The film is renowned for its captivating musical score by Josef Myrow and Mack Gordon, especially for the debut of the classic song, "You Make Me Feel So Young," which would later be immortalized by Frank Sinatra. "Three Little Girls in Blue" is a delightful romp, an intricate dance of love and ambition, set to the rhythms of an age on the brink of change.
