Plot

In the not-too-distant future, dominated by expansive insurance corporations and the omnipresence of digital technology, we find Thomas, a young man living in self-imposed isolation. Tormented by agoraphobia, he has spent the last eight years securely barricaded within the confines of his apartment. His world is entirely digitized - he thrives in an era where human contact can be entirely avoided, where every need and desire can be fulfilled with the click of a button. His apartment, a fortress of solitude, is equipped with an air-lock style ante-room, which serves as his only conduit to the outside world, receiving his many deliveries. Yet, beneath his seemingly content exterior, Thomas yearns for something more. Despite his fear of human contact, he finds himself longing for a connection deeper than what his screens can provide. His psychiatrist, who communicates with him through video calls, suggests an unconventional solution - an online service designed to facilitate romantic connections. In this world of artificial intimacy, Thomas stumbles upon Eva, a therapeutic prostitute. Despite their unorthodox introduction and his barricaded existence, Thomas finds himself inexplicably drawn to her. The sterile glow of the screen can't mask the warmth that Eva brings into his life. But will this digital infatuation be enough for a man who hasn't stepped outside his apartment in almost a decade? Is Thomas capable of experiencing love, and if so, will it be powerful enough to pull him from his self-imposed exile? 'Thomas in Love' is a riveting exploration of the human spirit's desperate quest for connection in an increasingly disconnected world.
