Plot

In the bustling heart of Gotham College, Richard Wanley, a distinguished psychology professor and an unassuming member of a private men's club, finds himself entranced by a mesmerizing portrait in an adjacent art gallery window. The subject of his fascination is the enigmatic Alice Reed, whose allure is as mysterious as it is undeniable. With his family on a holiday in Maine, the professor's solitary existence takes an unexpected turn when he encounters the living embodiment of this captivating portrait. An innocent admiration quickly escalates into a whirlwind of events as one drink in Alice's apartment spirals into a shocking act of self-defence. When Alice's boyfriend bursts in unexpectedly, a fatal misunderstanding ensues and Wanley finds himself in the eye of a deadly storm. With his academic reputation at stake, Wanley is drawn into a frantic cover-up, aiding Alice in hiding the evidence of their horrific crime. However, as the police begin to unravel the web of clues, the walls start closing in on the once composed professor. Complicating matters further, a shadowy blackmailer sets his sights on Alice, threatening to expose their shared secret. Torn between his loyalty to the bewitching woman in the window and his own survival instincts, Wanley must navigate this treacherous labyrinth of guilt, deception, and fear. This psychological noir thriller will keep you on the edge, questioning whether the esteemed scholar has the courage to face the consequences, or if he will risk everything for the cruelly beautiful woman in the window.
