Plot

In the early dawn of the 20th century, the island of La Réunion is having its peace disturbed by five adolescent boys, all played by actresses, who come from respected families but are irresistibly drawn to the occult and the thrill of transgression. Their fascination with the dark arts culminates in a savage crime, and in the chaotic aftermath, they find themselves under the control of TREVOR - an enigmatic deity of chaos they are unable to master. In response to their brutal act, these young rebels are subjected to a harsh punishment - they are forced to embark on an arduous journey aboard a ghostly, dilapidated sailboat, under the uncompromising rule of a stern Dutch Captain. Determined to tame their wild spirits, the Captain's relentless methods soon push the boys to the brink, stirring thoughts of mutiny within their rebellious hearts. When they reach an enigmatic island, lush with dangerous yet alluring flora, the boys find themselves confronted with a supernatural realm that begins to alter their very beings. Amidst the island's intoxicating pleasures and lurking dangers, they start to undergo a startling transformation, their minds and bodies reshaping in a strange and bewitching dance. Shot in stunning 16mm film, "THE WILD BOYS" is a vibrant exploration of eroticism, mischief, and gender fluidity. With its blend of humor and darkness, it takes you on a surreal journey that teems with wonder and horror, promising an experience that will linger long after the credits roll.
