The Tribe (2018)

In the heart of a swirling corporate storm, Fidel, the CEO of the Omnicron company, finds himself in a peculiar and embarrassing predicament while having an intimate moment with his secretary. This scandalous incident, captured and virally propagated by his employees, results in his termination, rejection by his girlfriend and alienation from his adoptive family. Vanished from the public eye, a year later Fidel embarks on a journey of self-discovery and seeks out his biological mother, Virginia, in an attempt to reconstruct his shattered life. Entering the world of Virginia, a humble cleaning lady at a hotel, he encounters a slew of challenges, including a spiteful waiter who used to be his intern. An unexpected altercation and a desperate suicide attempt later, Fidel wakes up in a hospital with amnesia, oblivious of his past splendor and scandal. Virginia, unaware of Fidel's true identity, takes him in, introducing him to his new siblings, the jobless and indolent Elton and Maikel. As Fidel slowly settles into his new life, Virginia uncovers his tumultuous past, including his role in the firing of 300 Omnicron employees, some of whom are her friends and including her own sons. She decides to shield this information, hoping it would fade into oblivion. However, Fidel's presence becomes a bone of contention for Elton and Maikel, compelling them to drive him out. Fidel's wandering leads him to a vibrant street dance group, Las Mamis, where he meets the enchanting Maribel. Virginia, in the meantime, secures a job for him at a supermarket owned by Luciano, Fidel's biological father. Concurrently, she discovers Fidel's hidden talent for street dance. Fidel's past, however, refuses to stay buried when a headhunter scouting for a TV talent show recognises him in the dance group. As Virginia struggles to protect Fidel from the looming storm of his past, and as he gradually regains his memory, Fidel must confront the turbulence of his past against the newfound joy of his present.
