The Taming of the Shrew (1967)

In the vibrant city of Padua, Baptista (Sir Michael Hordern), a wealthy merchant, has made an unexpected decree: his younger, radiant daughter, Bianca (Natasha Pyne), must remain single until her tempestuous older sister, Katharina (Dame Elizabeth Taylor), has been married off. This proclamation sends waves through the city's young suitors, particularly Lucentio (Michael York), the charming scion of a prosperous Pisan family, who has been struck by Cupid's arrow for Bianca. Disguising himself as a tutor of fine arts, Lucentio infiltrates the Baptista mansion, hoping to be closer to his beloved. Into this complex love drama struts Petruchio (Richard Burton), a gallant, fortune-seeking rogue from Verona, on the prowl for a wealthy bride. His hunt leads him to the fiery Katharina, thanks to a tip-off by Hortensio (Victor Spinetti), a fellow suitor for Bianca's affections. Despite Hortensio's warnings of Katharina's notorious temper and sharp tongue, Petruchio, fueled by the thrill of the chase, resolves to win her heart. In a twist of fortune, Hortensio and Gremio (Alan Webb), another of Bianca's admirers, agree to finance Petruchio's pursuit of the formidable Katharina, setting the stage for a tale of love, wit, and comic rivalry.
