Amid the growing chaos of her life, Anna Sparrow finds herself grappling with a sense of emptiness. Her teenage kids, Emily and Max, are asserting their independence, her husband Mike's burgeoning business consumes his attention, leaving her feeling adrift. In search of purpose, she turns to her pastor's advice and embarks upon a journey of selfless service at a local food bank. In this environment of compassion and charity, Anna crosses paths with Maria Sanchez, a woman whose life has been shaped by a world vastly different from Anna's. Despite this, a shared devotion to their families fosters a deep bond between them. Maria, burdened by concern for her bright yet isolated daughter Bella - a victim of school bullying - finds solace in Anna's support. Under Anna's gentle persuasion, Emily, Anna's daughter, takes Bella under her protective wing, imparting a sense of belonging. The aftermath leaves Anna and Mike grappling with a life-altering decision, the implications of which weigh heavy on their hearts as they consider the welfare of young Bella.
