Plot

In the pulsating heart of Shanghai, thrill-seeker Poppy stumbles upon a casino run by the enigmatic "Mother" Gin Sling. Born from the ashes of poverty, Gin Sling has clawed her way to the top, now threatened by affluent tycoon Sir Guy Charteris, who's bought a swath of Shanghai and is forcing her to uproot by the approaching Chinese New Year. As Gin Sling uncovers the unexpected ties that bind her to Poppy, she orchestrates a sinister plot, manipulating the unscrupulous Doctor Omar to lure the unsuspecting young woman into a web of gambling and alcohol addiction. Meanwhile, Gin Sling discovers a shocking truth: the man forcing her out of her empire is her long-lost husband, whom she believes deserted her. Bent on vengeance, she invites Charteris to a Chinese New Year dinner with a sinister intent — to unveil his past transgressions. But as tension mounts, it becomes evident that Charteris harbors a surprise of his own, setting the stage for a showdown that promises to change their lives forever. In this riveting tale of power, revenge and secrets, nothing is as it seems, and no one is safe from the pull of past misdeeds.
