Plot

When the Lowry family, consisting of Tom, his wife Karen, and their two young children, Liz and Widdy, exchange the bustling city life for the serene charm of Placerville, a small town in Northern California, they find themselves unexpectedly chosen by an endearing, intelligent stray golden retriever - Pilot. Their lives take an enchanting turn when Pilot is discovered to be pregnant. During the puppies' weaning period, the Lowrys, especially the children, form an intimate bond with the adorable litter. But as much as they would love to keep them, Tom sets down a firm rule: the puppies must find new homes once they are weaned. The process of giving away the puppies turns out to be a fascinating saga, filled with humor and surprising characters who appear at the Lowry home to adopt a puppy. But Pilot, with a mother's determination, is resolute on reuniting with her puppies. The Lowrys are swept up in a whirlwind of comedic circumstances that underline their life's void without the puppies. Retrieving six puppies, however, from complete strangers is a task far from easy. Tom finds himself at a crossroads, torn between his professional obligations and his family's happiness. Guided by Pilot, the Lowrys embark on a heartwarming mission to reclaim the puppies, unraveling along the way the profound essence of family ties. The adventure not only tests their resolve but also brings them closer, teaching them the true meaning of being a family.
