Plot

In the throbbing heart of Brazil's vibrant cities, Sarah, a 25-year-old Carmelite nun, cloaks herself in the sanctity of the convent. Her twin sister, Gaëlle, bears a contrasting destiny, marked by a decade in the icy confines of a Parisian prison for a crime that shook society. As the twins approach their 25th birthday, their lives are on the brink of a seismic shift. Sarah, whose faith is as unyielding as the walls of her convent, has been grappling with an inexplicable abdominal pain. This mysterious ailment catches the attention of Father Joachim, a man of God who also possesses a keen medical acumen. Despite his exhaustive examinations, the source of Sarah's torment remains elusive. Meanwhile, Gaëlle, now on probation, finds herself navigating the merciless currents of societal scorn in Paris. The twins' destinies intertwine once more when Sarah and Father Joachim are transferred to Paris. Intrigued by the enigma of twins' symmetry, Joachim embarks on a quest to find Gaëlle. His pursuit for answers becomes even more imperative when he uncovers a startling revelation—Gaëlle is the one afflicted with the physical illness that's mysteriously manifesting in Sarah. Amidst the looming shadows of the past, a tenacious reporter delves into Gaëlle's life while Sarah's mother superior keeps a watchful eye over her. The Pact of Silence is a riveting journey through the labyrinth of secrets, faith, and the unbreakable bond of twinhood. It raises the question—can one ever truly escape the ties of the past, or are we forever bound by an invisible pact of silence?
