The Outlaw Deputy (1935)

In the gritty, lawless town of Goldland, Tim Malloy (Tim McCoy), a reformed outlaw with a past steeped in infamy, embarks on a relentless quest for justice. Forced into a life of crime by dire circumstances, Tim now seeks redemption and vengeance for the murder of his young ally, Chuck Adams (George Offerman, Jr.). As Tim's journey unfolds, he finds himself in the merciless grip of Goldland, a place ruled by ruthless gamblers, unscrupulous bandits, and a sheriff whose presence is as good as his absence. The enigmatic Joyce Rutledge (Nora Lane) finds herself drawn to the fearless deputy, yet fears his seemingly unmerciful methods. Her perceptions shift when she witnesses Tim, despite being outnumbered, bravely quell the chaos created by Howger's henchmen during a peaceful church service. However, when Cash (Bud Osborne), a ghost from Tim's outlaw past, resurfaces and exposes his criminal history to Howger, a challenging ordeal begins. Despite the accusations, Tim confesses the truth, landing him in jail. In a bold act of faith, Joyce liberates him from his cell under the cover of darkness. In a climactic showdown, Tim identifies Howger as Chuck's killer, recognizing the stolen watch from his late friend's body. With a single, righteous bullet, Tim brings down the villain, avenging Chuck's untimely death. Having accomplished his mission, Tim stands at the precipice of a new dawn, poised to leave... or perhaps, stay.
