The Neptune Factor (1973)

Beneath the vast, unexplored expanse of the ocean, the Neptune Project team is engaged in groundbreaking oceanographic research on board the R/V Triton. The team's director, Andrews, battles against the mounting resistance from the head of the foundation, Sheppard, determined to keep the mission afloat. Deep within the ocean's abyss, the Sealab, piloted by the courageous Hamilton and his team, is preparing to ascend back to the surface. However, fate takes a devastating twist when the Sealab is violently dislodged from its moorings, sending it spiraling into a daunting underwater trench. Caught in a deadly trap far too deep for conventional divers, their only lifeline is an advanced U.S. Navy mini-submarine.
