Midvale College is on the precipice of losing its cherished football team, a prospect that leaves the players in a quandary and their biggest aficionado, Judge Holmesby, in a state of despair. The crux of the problem lies in the players' academic performance, which is far from stellar. As the college's future teeters on the brink, a ray of hope emerges in the form of the ingenious Merlin Jones and his astute chimpanzee nephew, Stanley. Holmesby entrusts Merlin with a seemingly impossible task: devising an ethical method to cheat. In response, Merlin ingeniously employs "sleep learning" to bolster the players' academic prowess. This unorthodox approach saves the college football program from a premature end, but the relief is short-lived. A tantalizing offer from the affluent Mr. Astorbilt threatens to upturn everything. A million-dollar donation tempts the college, but the catch is the eradication of football. Just when all seems lost, enter Darius Green III, a deep-pocketed benefactor ready to donate a whopping $10 million, if the college can meet an unusual condition: to make a man fly under his own power.
