In the heart of Poland, Pawel, a man teetering on the cusp of his thirties, carves out a living with his father, Zygmunt, engaged in the modest business of importing second-hand clothing from Northern France to Southern Poland. Their lives take a shocking twist when Pawel, returning from a routine business trip, is confronted with his father's picture glaring from the cover of a tabloid newspaper, his face tagged with the vile epithet 'traitor'. Zygmunt, revered as a heroic figure in the struggle against totalitarianism and a celebrated member of the 80's "Solidarnosc" labor movement, now stands accused of an unthinkable act - serving as a secret informer, THE MOLE, for the despised communist regime. Pawel, reeling from this revelation, is vehemently certain the accusations are a fabrication, a plot spun by his father's adversaries. However, his father's cryptic reactions and sudden decision to retreat into hiding, waiting for the dust to settle, kindles a flicker of doubt within Pawel. The truth, it seems, lies shrouded in the murky past of a former member of the secret police under the communist regime. Unraveling the thread of deception and truth becomes a journey not just for Pawel, but for an entire nation wrestling with its past.
