Plot

Haunted by a dysfunctional upbringing and a devastating personal tragedy, Jack is an enigmatic figure, caught in a world that most can't comprehend. He carries a unique and burdensome gift, the ability to communicate with the dead. Jack's days are filled with spectral dialogues and ethereal messages, from those who have crossed the veil into the afterlife, to the loved ones they left behind. Yet, his extraordinary gift is seen as a curse, as he grapples with a longing for normalcy, the weight of past traumas, and societal ostracism. In a world where many yearn for a sign from the afterlife, for the comforting presence of a lost loved one in a draft of air or a fleeting scent, Jack is ceaselessly sought after by the departed. They don't wait for him, they relentlessly pursue him. To the casual observer, Jack may seem like a misfit, a disturbed man muttering to unseen entities. His disheveled appearance and solitary pub dealings could easily label him as an outcast, a lunatic. Yet, beneath the surface, Jack is a man of sharp intellect and quick wit, trapped not by a lack of will to conform but by the relentless grip of the unseen. His struggle is not with mental health, as his psychologist would believe, but with the relentless whispers of the dead. Jack yearns for a regular life, but the spectral voices won't let him be. They refuse to release him from a world where the living and the dead intermingle, a world where he serves as the reluctant Messenger.
