Plot
In the affluent backdrop of the Hamptons, on the east end of Long Island, we find the nexus of our tale in THE MAID'S ROOM. Drina, a bright and beautiful immigrant, finds employment as a seasonal live-in maid for the Crawfords, a high society New York family with a majestic Hamptons home. The gig is manageable, as the Crawfords are often away in the city, leaving Drina to tend to their Princeton-bound son, Brandon, and his pampered comrades.
As fate would have it, the maid's quarters share a wall with the garage, a detail that becomes vital when a drunken Brandon stumbles home late one night, his arrival punctuated by the cacophonous sounds of his battered and blood-speckled car. The following day, a local news story about a deadly hit-and-run accident casts a chilling light on last night's events, and it becomes evident that Brandon is the perpetrator.
As the Crawfords scramble to shield their treasured son, Drina finds herself in a unique position of leverage over her employers. An intoxicating mixture of fear and power courses through her as she realizes the dangerous game she's unwittingly become a part of. With the balance of power shifted, she's drawn into a perilous dance of survival and control, far beyond her previous realm of experience.
