Plot

In the opulent world of diamond mining, reside the Van Der Byl siblings, Benedict (David McCallum) and Tracey (Hayley Mills). Their father, Hendrich Van Der Byl (Bill McNaught), the wealthy owner of a prosperous yet small-scaled diamond mining operation in South Africa, also serves as a father figure to an orphan, Johnny Lance (Jon Cypher). This makeshift sibling rivalry, particularly between Benedict and Johnny, weaves the complex web of this tale. Benedict is a charismatic womanizer who dabbles in petty theft from the company's diamond stash to charm his ladies, the current being Johnny’s materialistic wife, Ruby (Volenté Bertotti). In stark contrast, Johnny, who has always outshone Benedict, is a respected figure in the diamond industry. His latest project, Kingfisher, a revolutionary vessel expected to transform diamond dredging, sits at the heart of this drama. When Hendrich is handed a terminal diagnosis, he divides the company's control between his children and Johnny, a decision that sparks a power struggle. Benedict becomes President and CEO, a role that he uses, supported by Ruby, to seize full control of the company, including the Kingfisher, ultimately trying to crush Johnny and uncaring if Tracey becomes a casualty. As Tracey and Johnny unite, they face the mounting obstacles thrown their way by Benedict, who becomes more ruthless and criminal in his quest for power. The stakes escalate when they uncover a secret about Thunderbolt, an area believed to house an enormous cache of diamonds. This revelation ignites a race for control, wealth, and power, with each party striving to outmaneuver the other in the tumultuous world of diamond mining.
