Plot

In the heart of Buenos Aires, during the politically turbulent March of 1982, the populace dares to defy the iron fist of the military dictatorship. Amidst this revolution, a fortress-like school stands tall, its sturdy red walls a bulwark against the tumultuous world outside, maintaining the sanctity of age-old scholastic rituals within its boundless realm. María Teresa, a 20-year-old classroom assistant, finds herself navigating this labyrinth of academia. Innocent, or perhaps merely oblivious, she presides over her duties with a sense of detached observance. Her initiation into this cloistered world began in the summer under the stern guidance of Mr. Biasutto, the senior classroom assistant, who schooled her in the art of invisible surveillance: a constant vigilance that never alarms, yet never fails to notice. Yet, even in this seemingly orderly sanctuary, there is room for deviance. María Teresa, lured by the faintest hint of possible misconduct, begins to stalk the boys' lavatories, her pursuit of clandestine smokers morphing into a peculiar, thrilling ritual. She skirts the edge of propriety - bending, twisting, and manipulating the rules without quite breaking them, her actions a subtle mockery of the oppressive normality she is meant to enforce. This insidious surveillance, a reflection of the disturbingly perfect order she upholds, poses a question: could such control extend beyond the school's imposing walls? For beyond this fortress, where future leaders are moulded, lies a world - an Argentina, that bears little resemblance to the controlled chaos within.
