In the harsh year of 811 AD, nestled deep in the woods a few days journey from Birka, resides a poverty-stricken family, trapped in their isolated home. The usually bountiful hunting and fishing have dwindled, pushing the family's patriarch, Joar, to embark on a Viking raid. Time stretches into uncertainty as Joar fails to return, and a shroud of fear cloaks the family, gnawing at their hope for his safe return. In the midst of this turmoil, emerges Runa, the elder daughter, who courageously steps into her father's shoes. With each passing day, her hands grow accustomed to her father's chores, her eyes keen as an eagle's during the hunt.
