The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy (1981)

“Don't Panic!”

Plot

In the ordinary world of Arthur Dent, a morning of house demolition becomes the least of his worries as he's catapulted into an intergalactic journey by his eccentric friend, Ford Prefect. Ford, who is not the average human as he appears but an alien researcher from the planet Betelgeuse, is the author of the cosmic bible, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." When their home planet Earth is obliterated by a Vogon Demolition Fleet for a new hyperspace bypass, Ford saves Arthur, spiriting him away on an unexpected adventure across the universe. Their voyage is far from lonely as they are joined by a motley crew; Ford's cousin, Zaphod Beeblebrox, a two-headed, free-spirited former President of the Galaxy, Trillian, an intelligent human woman, and Marvin, a paranoid and perpetually depressed android. Their cosmic odyssey takes them from the space-dust remnants of Earth to the ultimate dining experience, Milliways, famously known as the Restaurant at the End of the Universe. As they journey across the vastness of the cosmos, the team grapples with existential questions, uncovering the secrets behind Earth's creation and the elusive meaning of life itself. "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is a whimsical exploration of fate, friendship, and the absurdities of existence. This is not just a plot, but a doorway to a universe filled with wonder, humor, and a healthy dose of the unexpected.
