The Hike (2011)

Haunted by the tragic death of her boyfriend in the harsh terrains of Afghanistan, young soldier Kate (Zara Phythian) finds solace in the company of her friends, including the empathetic Torri (Barbara Nedeljacova). Seeking healing and escape, they embark on a serene camping trip to a remote corner of the British countryside, hidden away like a gem amidst the emerald greens. Their journey, intended as an escape from their pasts, finds them trekking through dense woods towards the picturesque Sunset Point. In the heart of the wilderness, they stumble upon an enigmatic group of locals, living a seemingly primitive existence off the land. Their journey is further punctuated by an unexpected encounter with three charismatic rock-climbing adventurers, led by the charming Ethan (Ben Loyd Holmes). Their tranquility, however, is abruptly shattered when Charlie (Jemma Bolt) mysteriously disappears, leaving the group isolated and vulnerable in the menacing woods. As night descends, the camping trip morphs into a terrifying survival game. The once tranquil forest now echoes with unseen threats, and every rustle sends a shiver down their spines. The women, bound by their newly formed friendships, must rally together to locate Charlie and survive the relentless hunt by an unknown predator lurking in the forest's shadows. What was meant to be a peaceful retreat rapidly spirals into a desperate fight for survival, as they grapple with the question: who will survive the last hike of their lives?
