The Family Secret (1951)

In the dim-lit shadow of a local tavern, a friendship shatters as fists fly over a girl. Art Bradley, inflamed by alcohol, draws a knife on his best friend David Clark; a deadly blow from a rock ends Art's life and sends David spiraling into a world of fear and guilt. As his parents host a quiet card game with friends - one of whom is the now grieving mother of Art - David haphazardly erases the evidence of his actions, both on himself and his mud-streaked car. He resurfaces, bearing a mask of normalcy, only to have it cracked by a chilling phone call from the police. Art's lifeless body has been discovered. Howard Clark, David's father and a retired criminal attorney, now faces an unthinkable predicament: his son is a killer.
