In the heart of rural Australia, the earth trembles, setting off a perilous leak at WALDO, a clandestine nuclear waste storage facility. Caught in the midst of the calamity, Heinrich Schmidt, a dedicated engineer, sustains severe injuries. Despite his wounds, he grasps the impending catastrophe - the leakage's lethal potential to taint the groundwater across hundreds of miles, threatening myriad lives. His superior, obsessively self-protective, opts for concealment of the disaster over public safety, disregarding the potential cost of thousands of lives. Driven by the urgency to warn the populace, Heinrich flees the facility. However, his injuries and subsequent amnesia leave him stranded and disoriented in the vast wilderness. His plight catches the attention of Larry, a vacationing auto mechanic, and his wife, Carmel, who become his unexpected saviors. As Heinrich grapples with his fragmented memory, striving to recall the sequence of the accident, a looming danger encroaches. His boss's henchmen, relentless and ruthless, are hot on the trail of the unsuspecting trio.
