Plot

In the heart of Belfast, nineteen-year-old Danny Flynn finds himself ensnared in the turbulent web of the I.R.A., an involvement that leads him to leave behind his young love, Maggie Hamill, and his family. His choices land him in prison, his life put on hold for fourteen long years. Upon his release, Danny returns to his working-class roots, determined to reclaim his life through the noble art of boxing. He throws himself into not just fighting, but also mentoring the next generation of boxers in his inclusive boxing club, a haven for both Catholics and Protestants alike. This peaceful approach, however, does not sit well with his former I.R.A. comrades, who view his cooperation with the Protestants as a betrayal of their cause. Their leader, Harry, resorts to familiar tactics of violence, aiming to halt Danny's attempts at unity. Yet, it isn't just Harry Danny must contend with. Joe, Maggie's father and himself an I.R.A. activist, though against the violence directed at Danny, is also against his daughter reigniting her past flame, viewing Danny as a man with no future. In the midst of this tension, the spark between Danny and Maggie reignites, their dreams of a shared future struggling to ignite amidst the complexities of Maggie's current marital status, her imprisoned husband, and the emotions of her teenage son, Liam. Their story is a testament to the power of love, the struggle for peace, and a fight for a future free of political violence.
