Plot

In the bustling heart of New York City, an unassuming busboy, Augustus Pinkerton Jr., better known as "Little Pinks" to his friends, is caught in the throes of an unrequited love. His affection is directed towards the glamorous nightclub singer, Gloria Lyons, a woman so absorbed in her own world that she fails to notice his existence. Gloria, the coveted girlfriend of the powerful and unscrupulous club owner Case Ables, is oblivious to the quiet devotion of Little Pinks, even though they once worked at the same club. It is only when Pinks performs a selfless favor for her, costing him his job at Case's club, does Gloria first acknowledge his presence. In a twist of fate, Gloria reciprocates by securing Pinks a position in her current club, where he endears her with the affectionate nickname, "Your Highness". This name becomes a symbol of Gloria's disregard for those around her, marking her callous nature. A dramatic shift occurs in Gloria's life when she attempts to leave Case for the affluent Decatur Reed. Driven by jealousy, Case retaliates, jeopardizing her career and livelihood. Throughout this turmoil, Pinks has been secretly supporting Gloria with small anonymous gifts, which she mistakenly attributes to Decatur. Now, Pinks decides to step up, providing for Gloria in ways she recognizes and others she remains blissfully unaware of. Despite the skepticism of those around him, Pinks' unwavering devotion to Gloria never falters. When Gloria expresses her desire to abandon New York for the opulence of Florida, Pinks is once again there to support her. It remains to be seen how far Pinks will go for his love and whether Gloria will ever recognize the depth of his devotion or the kindness of those around her. This gripping tale explores the lengths to which one man will go for unrequited love in a world where wealth and power often overshadow genuine affection.
