Plot

In the heart of Hollywood's golden era, Tom Ford, the charismatic cowboy star of Mammoth Film Productions, decides to retreat on a vacation, oblivious to a crucial personal appearance he's scheduled to make at the grand 1936 Texas Centennial celebration in Dallas. In a frantic attempt to salvage the situation, Wilson, the studio's resourceful publicity man, hatches a daring plan, substituting Ford with his uncanny look-alike and stuntman, Gene Autry. Gene, a man of humble origins, agrees to the charade out of fidelity to Wilson, yet he harbors a burning desire to reveal his true identity to the unsuspecting public. En route to Dallas, a fateful collision with Marion Hill's cattle truck scatters her show-purpose steers far and wide. Unfazed, Gene springs into action, his horse Champion at his side, and rounds up the steers in a display of authentic cowboy prowess. As Gene's unexpected singing talent gains him radio fame, a disgruntled Ford stumbles upon a broadcast and is irate at the audacious impersonation, threatening the studio with a lawsuit. Meanwhile, a fashionable gang of blackmailers, led by the menacing Rico, enters the fray. Rico, a sinister figure from Ford's past, seeks to collect a debt, and upon discovering the ruse, shifts his sights to extorting the studio. As tensions rise and secrets threaten to unravel, the plot takes unpredictable turns, punctuated by captivating musical numbers. Will Gene manage to preserve his cover, save the studio, and win the heart of Marion Hill? The Big Show, with its blend of drama, comedy, and classic cowboy action, is a thrilling roller coaster ride through the glitz and glamour of 1930s Hollywood.
