The Ballad of Jack and Rose (2005)

Set in 1986, Jack Slavin, an ecologically driven engineer, and his adolescent daughter Rose, dwell in near isolation on Marsh Island, the remnants of a commune Jack had helped establish in 1968. Their sanctuary, a mirror of their profound dedication to environmental preservation, is located off the U.S. east coast and is under threat from Marty Rance, a developer encroaching upon the wetlands.
