In the chilling frost of 1966 Russia, a gravely wounded woman steers a truck through desolate landscapes, carrying the weight of twin infants' destinies. Fast forward four decades later, the echoes of her past reverberate in the life of Marie Jones, a successful film producer stationed in sunny California. A call from a remote notary public, Andrei Misharin, draws her back to the wilderness of her birthplace, a forgotten farm that carries the imprint of her lineage. Marie, one of the infants from that fateful day, abandons her life in America, leaving her daughter behind to unravel the mystery of her origins. Upon her arrival at the forsaken homestead, she crosses paths with the enigmatic Nicolai. A stranger yet eerily familiar, Nicolai reveals that he, too, was summoned by Misharin, and he holds the missing piece of Marie's fragmented past - he is her twin brother.
