In the twilight of life, Abner Meecham, an indomitable farmer, escapes the suffocating confines of a nursing home, yearning for the freedom and familiarity of the family farm he deems rightfully his. Cast aside by his son and left to languish in a stark institution, Abner decides to reclaim the vibrancy of life by returning to his land, a place where he can breathe his last breath amidst the comfort of cherished memories. However, a harsh reality awaits him upon his return. His ancestral farm has been leased to Lonzo Choat, a man whose presence has always prickled Abner's disdain. The stubborn Lonzo's refusal to vacate sets the stage for a bitter face-off, forcing Abner to take shelter in an aged tenant shack on his own land. The escalating feud between the two men, each steadfast in their conviction of being in the right, detonates a powder keg of tension and animosity.
