Sweet Dreams (2019)

As the keys to their new home jingle in their hands, Drew and Kara Townsend envision their dream has finally materialized. But the joyous echoes of their laughter barely fade before an eerie chill of terror takes residence in their house, and their lives. Bound by the demanding rhythms of their jobs - Drew's nocturnal duties as a Hollywood dailies editor and Kara's daylight service as a nurse tending to the elderly, the couple's time at home rarely overlaps. Yet, a chilling presence ensures they never truly feel alone. A sinister force, invisible but palpable, stalks their waking hours and terrorizes their nights. Drew, paralyzed by this unseen entity during his sleep, is initially reassured by Kara's rational explanation of sleep paralysis, a common occurrence often accompanied by the illusion of an evil presence. Determined to conquer his fear, Drew dismisses his nightmare encounters as mere figments of this sleep disorder. But the darkness is not confined to Drew's troubled sleep. Kara, too, finds herself ensnared in a similar web of terror, her reality blurring with the uncanny. As the eerie occurrences escalate, she starts to question the comforting logic of it all being in their heads. Her growing suspicions hint at a malevolent force lurking in the shadows, ever-watchful, ever-present, turning their sweet dreams into a nightmarish reality. In the movie "Sweet Dreams", the Townsends' dream house evolves into a petrifying stage where an ominous specter orchestrates a nocturnal symphony of fear. As they grapple with their terrifying predicament, the viewers are led to question - is it all a terrifying byproduct of sleep paralysis, or is something truly sinister watching them sleep? The answer may be as elusive as sleep itself.
