Plot

In the heart-stirring narrative of Sweet Dreams, happiness arrives like an unexpected, evening tide. Marie, a Danish wanderer, and Sophie, an Irish free spirit, find themselves adrift in the rugged heart of Northern Scotland, their late twenties spent aimlessly meandering through a perpetual carousel of global revelry. One fateful night of intoxication leaves them cashless, luckless, and on the brink of desperation. Enter the world of surrogacy, a path laced with lucrative promises, pressed upon Marie by Sophie's ambitious persuasion. Fast forward a few months, and Marie is alone, her existence dramatically altered. Laden with an unwanted pregnancy and pursued by the prospecting parents, she embarks on a frantic quest for Ken, Sophie's long-lost love. A twist of fate, a mistaken identity, and Marie finds herself ensconced in a ramshackle Glasgow garage, her only company being three eccentric men. Just when despair threatens to consume her, happiness - unpredictable as ever - descends once again. This film weaves a story of unexpected joy, life's harsh realities, and the pursuit of elusive dreams, all set against the vibrant backdrop of Scotland's northern reaches.
