Plot

As the golden haze of Summer 1993 unfurls, we follow the journey of six-year-old Frida, uprooted from the familiar streets of Barcelona and the warm embrace of her grandparents, to a rustic stone farmhouse nestled in the heart of the countryside. Her world, once painted with the laughter of her parents, has abruptly been steeped in shades of grief and mystery following the death of her mother from an enigmatic illness. In this idyllic yet alien landscape, Frida is welcomed into the world of her uncle Esteve, her aunt Marga, and their three-year-old daughter Anna. This new family, as warm as the summer sun, offers Frida a chance at a new beginning, a chance to turn this house into a home. The presence of little Anna, a potential playmate, should have promised endless days of joyous frolic. However, the specter of her past casts long shadows. For Frida, the echo of her mother's laughter still rings louder than the chirping of the countryside birds, and the memory of her mother's touch lingers more tangibly than the caresses of the summer breeze. Her heart, though young, carries the weight of unexpressed pain, which manifests in bouts of sadness and unruly behavior. In this poignant exploration of loss and adaptation, we are left wondering, will Frida find solace in the arms of her new family? Will the summer sun melt away the frost of her grief? As the summer winds whisper through the dense forest nearby, only the passage of this transformative season holds the answers. Will Frida emerge from the chrysalis of her sorrow as the summer of 1993 fades into autumn? The veil of uncertainty lifts only as the last leaf falls.
