In the shadowy realm of martial arts, a deadly form of karate, potent enough to awaken the "Satsui no Hadou," exists. This lethal power, taught to Gouken and Gouki by their master Goutetsu, is a force that could consume its wielder. Gouken, attempting to temper this destructive potential, taught a sanitized version to his pupils, Ryu and Ken. However, Gouki was not so fortunate, succumbing to the darkness and murdering Gouken. Years later, Ryu and Ken, bound by shared history and mutual respect, stand vigil at their master's grave, their reunion tinged with surprise and confusion as a young boy named Shun emerges, claiming to be Ryu's long-lost brother.
