Plot

In the heart of Germany, on November 9, 1989, a day marked in history as the day the Berlin Wall crumbled, a tale of adventure unfolds. Young, tenacious Frederike, a 10-year-old girl with an insatiable curiosity and a deep admiration for her Uncle Mike, finds her world turned upside down when her beloved uncle is banished from the GDR with a devastatingly short notice of 48 hours. With the audacity of the youth and inspired by the legendary Captain Kirk, Frederike teams up with her spirited companions, Jonathan and Fabian, both age 10. Together, they devise an audacious plan - to construct a teleportation machine, in an attempt to transport themselves to the heart of West Berlin to visit Uncle Mike. However, their bold experiment spirals into chaos when, instead of teleporting themselves, they inadvertently transport the entire village population to West Berlin. For a fleeting moment, it seems as though they are the last children left on earth. The television broadcasts confirm Frederike's initial suspicion - everyone but them has been beamed to West Berlin. As they watch, they see their loved ones desperately seeking ways to climb back over the Wall to their home country. With the clock ticking and the threat of border guards opening fire, the trio must race against time to reverse their experiment. They must outwit the local policeman Mauder, who is as treacherous as the situation they find themselves in. As history unfolds, so does their daring adventure, intertwining personal stakes with monumental events, making this more than just a day to remember.
