Spook Chasers (1957)

In the heart of the city, the Bowery Boys are idling away in Mike Clancy's bustling diner; Sach is buried in a puzzle book, Duke is relishing Clancy's renowned Irish stew, while Myron, Chuck, and Blinky feast their eyes on a vivid collection of comic books. An opportunity arises when real estate agent Harry Shelby and his sidekick, Dolly Owens, overhear that Mike has been advised to retreat to the countryside for a health sabbatical. They pitch him "Cedar Crest," a so-called mountainous oasis, which in reality once served as a criminal's sanctuary. Undeterred, Mike and the Bowery Boys uproot their city lives to move to this rundown farmhouse. Amidst renovating their new home, they unearth a secret stash of fresh banknotes. Assuming they've stumbled upon a hermit's hidden fortune, they use it to clear the mortgage on Cedar Crest, inadvertently drawing the attention of three menacing thugs, Snap, Ziggie, and Ernie. These hoodlums force Shelby to reclaim the property, but Sach, Duke, and Mike stand their ground, undeterred by tales of the place being haunted. In the meantime, Dolly cunningly seduces Sach into revealing the source of their newfound wealth. She and Shelby concoct a scheme to seize the house and its buried treasure. As darkness descends, the farmhouse's new inhabitants find themselves tormented by spectral goons and under siege by the trio of greedy gangsters. This sets the stage for comedic chaos and thrilling escapades as the Bowery Boys strive to protect their home, their treasure, and their lives.
