Plot

In the dystopian year of 2008, the world is under siege by global warming. The polar ice caps have surrendered to the heat, unleashing a torrent of water that has transformed the once bustling city of London into a submerged metropolis. Amidst the aquatic chaos, an unseen terror has emerged from the shadows, a beast both unnatural and unstoppable, its bloodlust sated only by the taste of human hearts. Veteran policeman Harley Stone, played by the formidable Rutger Hauer, is a man tormented by his past. The beast's insatiable appetite claimed his partner, binding Stone to the creature in a dance of death. Now, the predator has a new target - Stone's girlfriend, Michelle McLaine, portrayed by Kim Cattrall. Stone finds himself in a deadly race against time, wrestling with his own demons as he trails the creature through London's water-logged streets, gloomy alleyways, and rain-drenched rooftops. Assigned a rookie partner amidst the turmoil, Stone's mission becomes a test of wills and weaponry. Even in this grim future, mankind's arsenal seems pitifully inadequate against the ten-foot tall alien monstrosity. Yet, Stone must face this deadly adversary in a desperate attempt to save his love and end the creature's reign of terror. As the floodwaters rise, so does the tension, culminating in a heart-stopping showdown. Stone must venture into the beast's lair, armed with nothing but his courage and resolve. Will he emerge victorious, or will he become another victim of the creature's insatiable hunger? In the dystopian future of "Split Second", survival isn't just a game - it's the only game.
