In the heart of his mundane existence, Ken Wall finds himself grappling with discontentment and disillusionment. Despair haunts him in the guise of a detested job at a small brewery, an overbearing boss named Richard, and his role as a new father, which he reluctantly accepts. His wife, Lori, weighted with postpartum depression and physical discomforts of recent motherhood, is left to shoulder the responsibility of caring for their still-unnamed son. Amid this unrest, Ken is summoned back to his hometown, Winnipeg, Manitoba, following the sudden death of his estranged father, Andy, due to an aneurysm. His intention to make a swift exit from Winnipeg is derailed when he meets Vince Kendall and Jeff Steadman, two members of his father's golf quartet. Vince, the lawyer for Andy's will, along with Jeff, its executor, reveal that Ken is the sole beneficiary of his father's surprisingly substantial estate. Torn between Lori's desire to secure a trust fund for their son and his own dream of establishing a gastropub, Ken is faced with an unexpected condition to claim the inheritance. He must honor his father's final wish - to scatter his ashes over the Investor's Field, the home turf of Andy's favorite professional sports team, within two days. With official channels proving unfruitful, Ken, aided largely by Jeff, embarks on a journey to fulfill his father's last wish. This quest propels Ken into a whirlwind of self-discovery, as he learns more about his father, rekindles a friendship with his college buddy, Cam, and uncovers the poignant reason behind Andy's peculiar request.
