Something Weird (1967)

In the throes of ordinary existence, Cronin Mitchell is marked by destiny when a plummeting power line mars his face, bequeathing him with an uncanny psychic prowess - a blessing and a curse wrapped in one. Retreating from the public eye, Mitchell, or 'Mitch', channels his newfound abilities into a career in fortune telling. His seclusion is interrupted by a grotesque crone who presents a tantalizing proposition: his good looks restored in exchange for her companionship. Despite his reservations, Mitch accedes, regaining his former appearance while the world perceives his hag-turned-lover as the alluring Ellen. Mitch's extraordinary powers soon spill into the public domain, propelling him and Ellen into a nomadic life of crime-solving across cities and towns. After successfully exorcising a spirit haunting a funeral home, the duo lands in a quaint Illinois town, on the trail of a shadowy serial killer. Their mission, however, is complicated by the arrival of Dr. Alex Jordan, a flamboyant psychiatrist and a skeptic, dispatched by the government to debunk Mitch's abilities. Dr. Jordan's lascivious designs on Ellen further muddle the scenario, igniting a fierce battle of wits and wills. Amidst these convolutions, Ellen strives to keep Dr. Jordan at bay while assisting Mitch in unmasking the elusive killer. In "Something Weird" (1967), the line between the mundane and the paranormal blurs, as love, deceit, and supernatural powers intertwine in a mesmerizing dance of destiny.
