Plot

In the labyrinth of high school's final chapter, Matt, a one-eyed senior, finds an unexpected sanctuary in Jill, a 250 lb girl, whose magnetic charm he finds irresistibly captivating. As they navigate the corridors of adolescence, their relationship blossoms, creating an enchanting symphony of love that Matt never thought conceivable. However, the graduation tolls chime change, as Jill relocates cross-country to embrace the sprawling horizons of college. In this new world, Jill undergoes a transformative weight loss, shedding more than 50 lbs, a revelation that leaves Matt staggered when he visits her. As Matt wrestles with accepting Jill's newly sculpted form, Jill finds herself embarking on an introspective journey, questioning whether Matt's love is a melody she wants to dance to. Their once harmonious duet gradually descends into a discordant cacophony, as both the geographical and emotional distances between them stretch their bond to breaking point. Propelled onto a tumultuous path of raw emotion and brutal honesty, they are forced to stare into the mirror of their souls, confronting not just their present identities, but who they were in the past, and the societal expectations of who they ought to be. "Some Freaks" is a poignant exploration of love's resilience and the evolution of identity, testing their relationship in ways neither could have envisaged, manifesting in heartrending revelations they never dreamed would occur.
