Plot

In the shimmering bubble of opulence that is Beverly Hills, Vivian and her family are anomalies; they're cash-strapped nomads, drifting from one tumbledown apartment to the next, just to leverage the city's prestigious education. Their lifeline? Uncle Mickey's benevolence, a financial stream that keeps them afloat. However, when rebellious Rita, Mickey's daughter, makes a daring escape from her confined life in an asylum, the family's dynamic takes an unexpected turn. In a cunning move, Vivian's father presents an offer to Mickey: shelter for the wayward Rita in exchange for an upgrade to a plush apartment. Suddenly, Vivian finds herself thrust into the role of caretaker for her adult cousin, navigating her through a labyrinth of nursing school, pill temptations, and alcohol snares. But Vivian is grappling with her own tempest of adolescent troubles: she's intrigued by the mysteries of sex, drawn to the allure of an older boy next door, and burdened with her inherited physical traits, all while yearning for a family that doesn't turn her cheeks crimson with embarrassment. Amid the chaos, can she steer Rita towards stability, keep Uncle Mickey appeased, and reconcile with her body and her unconventional family? The journey of this unlikely Beverly Hills tribe is both a poignant and comical exploration of adolescence, family, and the desire for acceptance.
