Plot

In the bustling city, young and obstinate Sanshiro embarks on a journey to master jujitsu. His life takes a twist after witnessing the spiritual prowess of Yano, a judo master, which compels Sanshiro to plead for his tutelage. As he delves deeper into the art, Sanshiro isn't merely learning techniques, but also "satori" - a calm recognition of the laws of nature. Finding equilibrium between power and restraint becomes his ultimate challenge. If successful, judo could revolutionize the city police's training system, earn Sanshiro the esteem of an aging jujitsu instructor, and even secure the affections of Sayo, the instructor's daughter. However, this love is also coveted by Higaki, the relentless master of jujitsu, who swears to eliminate Sanshiro in a midnight duel on a gusty mountainside.
