Plot
In the quiet humdrum of a small town, lives Sung-chil, a curmudgeonly 70-year-old loner who fills his days working part-time at the local supermarket. The supermarket's owner, Jang-soo, is also the spearhead of a city redevelopment project. However, Sung-chil's refusal to sign, his obstinate resistance to any disruption of his solitary existence, is the lone hurdle stalling the project.
A breath of fresh air enters Sung-chil's life in the form of his vibrant new neighbor, Geum-nim - an elderly woman with a sharp tongue, spirited attitude, and a knack for floristry. Despite his hardened exterior and awkwardness in matters of the heart, Sung-chil finds himself inexplicably drawn to her. This unexpected romance becomes the talk of the town, with everyone encouraging and assisting Sung-chil in his clumsy courting efforts.
However, not everyone approves. Geum-nim's daughter, Min-jung, staunchly opposes their budding relationship. As Sung-chil navigates the turbulent waters of late-life romance, he must face his own resistance to change and the external pressure that threatens to extinguish his newfound spark.
