Plot

In the heartwarming film "Run & Jump" (2014), the vivacious Vanetia Casey (Maxine Peake) finds her world turned upside down when her 38-year-old husband, Conor (Edward MacLiam), undergoes a personality-altering stroke. As the indefatigable pillar of the Casey family, Vanetia seeks to restore normalcy in their lives while juggling the demands of her two young children and the challenges of her husband's transformation. This Irish household is further disrupted by the unexpected arrival of Ted Fielding (Will Forte), a studious American doctor on a research grant, who comes to study Conor's rare condition. Initially, Vanetia resists the intrusion, treating Ted and his scientific scrutiny of Conor with skepticism. However, as life under the same roof unfolds, she comes to appreciate Ted's calming influence on their tumultuous family dynamics. As Ted immerses himself into the Casey's spirited world, he forms an unexpected connection with Vanetia, adding an intriguing layer of unconventional romance to this intimate family portrait. His continued presence, however, steers the family towards an emotional precipice, threatening to tip their carefully balanced life into chaos. Directed by Academy Award®-nominee Steph Green, "Run & Jump" is a poignant tale about the resilience of love and the unconventional forms of family. It beautifully captures an emotional journey of recovery, featuring Saturday Night Live star Will Forte in a compelling dramatic debut. The movie is a testament to the healing power of love and family, leaving viewers with an unforgettable cinematic experience.
