Amid the throes of war in 1944 California, defense plant workers Rosalind "Rosie" Warren and her confidante, Vera Watson, find themselves in an unconventional living arrangement. Sharing a rotating schedule for the last available rental room in town with fellow plant workers, Charlie Doran and Kelly Kennedy, they navigate the peculiarities of their domestic life under the watchful eye of their landlady, Grandma Quill.
