Rosemont (2015)

Five days before Christmas, amidst a ferocious blizzard, the lives of two strangers intertwine by happenstance. Lisa, a frightened 19-year-old pregnant girl, is running from an enigmatic past. Brad, a professional snowboarder with an impending engagement, is eager to cross the mountains before the storm escalates. Fate, however, has other plans. The blizzard overtakes them, leading to Brad's car colliding into a snow bank in the desolate wilderness. The only beacon of hope in this icy wasteland is the last building they passed: the once-thriving Rosemont Lodge. For two decades, the Rosemont Lodge has been shut down, its cheerfulness and warmth replaced with melancholy silence. The once charismatic Josephine, owner of the Lodge, is now a bitter recluse in her 60's, her vivacious personality extinguished by a devastating family tragedy. Her only company is the Lodge's lone employee, Abe, a caretaker who drowns his sorrow in liquor to escape Josephine's sharp tongue. Despite their initial hostility, they begrudgingly offer Lisa and Brad shelter. In the ensuing days, these four lives undergo a profound transformation. They grapple with Lisa's perilous childbirth, the startling revelation of her past, a budding romance between her and Brad, and her struggle to keep her baby. Amidst this turmoil, a poignant bond forms between Josephine and Lisa - a bond that Josephine believes echoes her own tragic past. This unexpected connection breathes life back into Josephine and the Rosemont Lodge, offering a glimmer of hope for Lisa's uncertain future and her newborn's life.
