Road Trip Romance (2022)

Once high school adversaries in Wichita, Megan Miller and Alden Brown find their paths crossed again in Denver, their respective lives having unfolded in uncannily similar ways. Each running their own vintage toy company and vying for the attention of the same department-store executive, they are both now residents of Seattle, and find themselves faced with the need to return to Wichita for family events; Megan for her sister Blair's wedding, and Alden for his father's retirement party. Their plans are thwarted when all flights from Denver are grounded indefinitely, leaving them with a mutual dread of sharing a confined, cross-country journey. Reluctantly, they embark on a chaotic, misadventure-filled journey that seems straight out of a "planes, trains and automobiles" blurb, their shared dislike for one another only adding fuel to the fire. As they stumble from one mishap to the next, their only goal becomes reaching Wichita in time for the significant family events, even if it means missing the preliminary functions. However, amidst the tumult, they find moments of quiet, mirroring the nostalgic charm of the vintage toys they both endorse. These pauses afford them the opportunity to reassess their animosity and their ongoing rivalry for the store account. As they traverse the country, they may discover that their journey is not just about reaching their destination, but also about reevaluating their relationship in a new light.
